i’m slowly turning into a recluse. but it’s Q1-end…so perfectly acceptable.
my fave thing on Saturdays is the 9am Matinee @ the closest movie theatre; i mean, besides sleep–what the hell is one supposed to do on Sat @ 9am anyways?
‘The King’s Speech’ played today—very simple but epic message; and very persuasive acting—colin firth—very much deserved his oscar!
one’s strength is oft tested during trials and tribulation, and you’re bound to discover strengths/hidden & explosive fervor you never thought you had!
notably,
i really admire how calm, well-prepared the Japanese are post-earthquake
i mean naturally hotels, schools, convenience stores opened out their support channels for resources
there was minimal hysteria, just a quiet but firm rebuilding sentiment—trying to get back to normal, systematic, resolute.
had this happened anywhere else, say taiwan or hong kong, not only would the sensationalist media blow things out of proportion and cause widespread panic
but i think i can rightly say the infrastructure would not be as well-prepared to handle crisis.
sometimes i make fun of Japanese colleagues on their stubbornness, lack of dynamism, and anal-retentiveness;
but in times as such, i have to say that attitude is absolutely critical and irreplaceable.
i am confident they’ll come out on top in no time.
